  
Dialup Configuration Instructions
Requirements:
- Your
MODEM must be installed in your computer and the modem drivers must
be installed into Windows
- Microsoft
“Dialup Up Networking” must be installed with Windows
- The TCP/IP
Protocol must be installed as a network protocol If any of the above
items are not installed or are not working please contact the company
you purchased your computer from for assistance. St. Louis Internet
is not responsible for the proper installation of Windows on your system.
St. Louis
Internet offers dialup access throughout all major cities in the United
States. This allows you to use your dialup account with us as a local
phone call in most cities.

STEP
1.
Double-Click on “My Computer”

Double-Click on “Dial-Up Networking"

STEP
3.
Double-Click on “Make New Connection”

NOTE:
If there are other Connections list in this box you may remove them if
they are no longer needed. To remove an existing (old) connection, right-click
on the connection and choose “DELETE”. Make sure that the connection you
are deleting is no longer needed.

4.
Enter a Name for your connection - such as “St. Louis Internet”. For this
example we will use the supplied name: “My Connection”. Using your mouse,
click “NEXT” when you have set the connection name and modem to use.

Your Modem
should be listed in the lower box. If it is not listed, use the drop-down
list to select your modem. If no modem appears then contact the person
who installed your computer system because your modem was not setup properly
in Windows. If no modem is shown you cannot continue the Internet setup
until this has been resolved.

5.
Click “FINISH” to complete this phase of the installation.

Right-click on “My Connection” (or the name you called it previously).
Click on “Properties”

Enter the dialup phone number: 801-0016 - Click the “Server Types” tab
at the top. ISDN user should use the phone number 613-0523.

8.
Make sure the following options are set correctly using this example Note
that under “Allowed Network Protocols” your list may or may not match
the example below. Regardless of what your list shows, make sure only
“TCP/IP” is selected. When you have set the options correctly, click on
the “TCP/IP Settings” Tab.

NOTE:
If “TCP/IP” does not appear in the protocols area, contact the company
you purchased your computer from who installed Windows. You cannot continue
the setup if “TCP/IP” is not installed on your computer.
STEP
9.
Following the example below, make selections and entries so your screen
matches the example. When you have set the options correctly, click on
the “OK” Tab to continue.

10.
Double-Click on the connection you made, or in our example “My Connection”
- When the “Connect To” Box appears, enter your login name, password and
click the “save password” option box. - Double-Click the “Connect” Button
at the bottom of the screen to connect to the Internet !

IMPORTANT
Your EMAIL program and possibly your Web Browser may need to be re-configured to use your new
dialup connection. Please consult the documentation for these programs on how to select the correct
dialup connection to use. Due to the variety of EMAIL and Web Browser configurations we cannot
provide you with a “standard” setup. Please consult your manual or your computer dealer for assistance.
The information we have provided you regarding your EMAIL account settings contains all information
necessary for proper configuration.
